This summer my family and I were lucky enough to have a two week holiday in a Trail-lite motorhome. It was the first camping experience for our kids (two and four) and they loved it as much as we did. It really was the ideal way of travelling with children. No luggage to unpack at each location, oodles of storage, we stopped when and where we wanted for lunch and a play on the beach and in the evenings we settled into the luxury and comfort of our mobile home.
Despite two weeks living in a relatively confined space we didn’t want the holiday to end. It reinforced two things for me. The first is that this is a stunning country for travelling by road. Not because the roads are great, but because the scenery is world class and the distances are mostly short. Secondly, you’d hard pressed to find a more comfortable, convenient and economical way of seeing this great country than a caravan or motorhome.
